The date for the two training days are Saturday 21st March and Saturday 17th October 2026. The March tutor for the day is Sue O’Brian and in October it will be Marion Hinchley.
We meet at The Memorial Hall at Plawsworth near Chester le Street, the arrival time is 9.30 for 10am start, the day finishing at 3.30pm. (or thereabouts).
The Teachers are invited to take part along with qualified florists and to anyone who organises club workshops.

The Education Committee has shared an important article from The Guardian (11 January 2026) highlighting the risks associated with pesticides used by flower and foliage growers. Teachers and students are encouraged to stay vigilant when handling plant materials and to be aware of both pesticide exposure and poisonous plant varieties. While this information may feel daunting for beginners, proper guidance and awareness help ensure safe practice.
