Tucked away in the charming setting of Hurworth Village Hall, Hurworth Flower Club has been blooming with creativity and camaraderie since its founding in 1999. With a dedicated membership of around 35 and a warm, welcoming afternoon atmosphere, the club continues to thrive as a cherished part of the local community.
The club meets every third Wednesday of the month and prides itself on its intimate yet vibrant gatherings. Leading the way is President Barbara Lawrence—also one of the founding members—alongside Chairman Alice Shaw, Secretary Sue Colley, Treasurer Nina Hilary, and a supportive committee made up of Gill Naisby, Val Hughes, Denise Finch, and Angela Birleson.
The club’s longevity is a testament to its strong roots and the dedication of its founding members: Barbara Lawrence, Kay Duggan, and the late Wendy Malkin. Whether you’re a seasoned flower arranger or simply curious about floral design, Hurworth Flower Club offers a friendly space to connect, learn, and flourish.
